Union Master and Union Manager: What Each Role Does
Updated: 3 hours ago
A Union on ClubGG links several Clubs under shared rules, organizing their poker games within one Union-wide framework. Two roles administer a Union: the Union Master and the Union Manager.
This article explains what each role does and how the two share Union-level work.

The Union Master
The Union Master holds the highest administrative role in a Union and manages the Union as a whole.
Every Union is created by one Club, known as its Master Club. The Club Master of the Master Club is the Union Master. Because the Club Master role cannot be transferred, the Union Master role cannot be transferred either.
Union-wide rules set at this level apply across the Union's affiliated Clubs. What a Union Master's work involves from day to day is a subject of its own.
The Union Manager
A Union Manager is a Club Manager of the Master Club. Any Manager of that Club is also a Union Manager and helps administer the Union.
A Union can have more than one Union Manager. Holding the role does not mean unrestricted access to the Union Back Office. The Union Master controls each Union Manager's Back Office access and permissions.
What Union Management Can Do
Depending on the available features and the permissions held, the Union Back Office gives Union management tools that can provide visibility and management across affiliated Clubs, including Club structures, members, Agents, games, access and reporting.
Union-wide data is visible only to the Master Club's administration. Each other Club in the Union sees only its own Club data.
One example is the Agent Win/Loss Limit. Like their Club-level counterparts, Union Masters and Union Managers can place a daily or weekly cap on the combined win/loss results of an Agent or Super Agent and the members beneath them.
How the Two Roles Share the Work
The Union Master holds primary authority over the Union. That includes reviewing Club applications to join the Union, and approving or rejecting them.
Two decisions belong to the Union Master alone: disbanding the Union, and managing Union Managers' permissions and Back Office access. Union Managers cannot do either. Within the permissions they hold, Union Managers share the rest of the Union-level work.
Union roles also sit above the roles inside each Club. An affiliated Club keeps its own Club Master, Club Managers, Agents and Players, as described in ClubGG Club Roles Explained: Master, Manager, Agent and Player. The Union roles extend administration across Clubs without replacing any Club-level role.

In short, the Union Master holds primary authority over the Union, and Union Managers help administer it within the permissions and Back Office access the Union Master gives them.
