Club Runner, Union Runner and Game Runner: What These Informal Terms Mean
ClubGG Clubs and Unions are administered through official roles. Some poker players and members also use informal terms for the people who run a Club or Union: Club Runner, Union Runner and Game Runner.
These are informal terms used in the community. They are not roles in ClubGG, and they do not carry any permissions of their own.
This article explains what people usually mean by each term and which official role it most often describes.

The Official Roles Come First
The Club Master is the highest-level administrative role within an individual Club. Below the Club Master are Club Managers, then Super Agents and Agents. Player is the default role for Club members.
Club Managers assist with Club administration within the permissions assigned by the Club Master.
A Union brings several affiliated Clubs together under one set of Union-wide rules. It is administered by a Union Master, with Union Managers helping within the permissions the Union Master gives them.
Permissions belong to these roles. An informal name does not add to them or change them. For a full explanation of the Club roles, see ClubGG Club Roles Explained: Master, Manager, Agent and Player.
Club Runner
"Club Runner" typically refers to the Club Master. It can also describe a Club Manager who handles day-to-day Club administration.
Because the term can point to either role, it says little about what that person can do in the Club. The official role name does. A Club Manager starts with nearly all of the Club Master's capabilities, and the Club Master can restrict individual permissions from there.
The terminology around the Club Master role follows the same pattern: one official name, with informal wording used alongside it in conversation.
Union Runner
"Union Runner" typically refers to the Union Master. It can also describe a Union Manager who oversees day-to-day Union administration.
The Union Master manages the Union. Union Managers assist with Union administration, and the Union Master decides which permissions and Back Office access each of them holds. How the two Union roles divide that work depends on those permissions, not on what anyone calls them.
Game Runner
"Game Runner" describes someone who organizes or manages games and tables. It names an activity rather than a position.
That person is usually a Club Master, a Club Manager, a Union Master or a Union Manager. Occasionally it is a Super Agent or an Agent, depending on the Club's structure and the permissions each role holds.

Union Runner: usually the Union Master, sometimes a Union Manager.
Game Runner: whoever organizes games and tables, usually a Master or Manager, occasionally a Super Agent or Agent.
When permissions, responsibilities or Club structure are being described, the official role names are the accurate ones, and they are the names this blog uses. The informal terms may still come up in conversation. In most cases, the speaker means one of the official roles.
Club Runner, Union Runner and Game Runner are informal community terms. In ClubGG, permissions come with the official roles, not with the names people use in conversation.
